    BGM makers? Empty BGM makers?

does anyone know any good BGM programs? I would really prefer free ones, since my parents don't like buying things online (even if i give them the money before hand, they always say 'it will steal my credit card!' T_T)
So, if you know any good BGM programs, like Anvil studio ( i have the free version) but maybe with more advanced sounding instruments, please tell me. i want to make a new UTAU song and I don't really like Anvil studio that much because it makes it sound kind of cheap.

My parents always say the same thing when I buy stuff online. XD

Anyways. I only know one free music making software, but I haven´t tested it myself. However, I´ve only heard good things about it. It´s called LMMS - Linux MultiMedia Studio. Don´t let the name deceive you, it also works in Windows.

If you do manage to get a hold of a free non-MIDI (crappy instruments) BGM program, then a way to make your songs sound better is to download a few soundfonts.

Soundfonts are a lot like normal font files, except they are (obviously) for music-sequencing programs. You have to have either a built-in Soundfont player, or use an outside one, but I can recommend a few nice, free Soundfonts that I still use regularly (links on names):

Fluid R3 GM (Fluid General MIDI: Release 3): Don't be confused by the word MIDI, that just means it has the same instruments as the MIDI set, but these are a lot better-sounding and most of my songs use this pack of over 150 instruments at least somewhere.

Squidfont Orchestral: This is the best free set of orchestra instruments I've ever found. I personally don't use it anymore, but it's still great.

NOTE: You'll have to download SFPack to open this soundfont file. SFPack is also free, and can be found HERE.

Anything by Papelmedia: They make some really great stuff. I still use their "AhhChoir" for my choir sounds (though for syllables other than "Ahh", you'll have to use VOCALOID or UTAU ;))

Hope I could be helpful to you! ^^ Good luck with writing your music!
