Well I am sure you have seen professional YT channels which had banners and special descriptions and 'click me' signs a.s.o right?
I can not give you all the pixel meassures, but I can give you something:
If you take a look at my account, you'll see that I have a custom background image that goes seeminly over the whole page and has some custom signs on it.
here the page:
https://www.youtube.com/user/Kentai92
and now take a peak at my background image:
(rightclick: save graphic or show graphic for full view)
As you can see all text adds and arrows and such are in the image.
Feel free to use it as a template for your own meassurments!
Important is that for full width your image should be between 1337px and 1400px
Now after you have created your custom image just remember these things:
1. If you make the bottom part of your image in one color, you can choose your channel background color as that color and refrain from making the image super heigh.
2. this also connects to point one: Images can only be 256kb. Make them a jpg and don't save them at highest quality.
3. your number 1 conscern when setting up your channel is transparencys, manage them right after you uploaded your background image.
If you make transparency higher people can see your background better.
4. Of course seeing your BG image is important, but the text in your channel is more important: make your wrapers white or a really bright color and then set transparency higher, that way dark Text can be displayed in a easy to read fassion and doesn't hurt the readers eye as it often happens.
5. if you really think you know what you are doing you can make everything 100% transparent and put all of your channel text on the background image.
This allows maximum customization and looks super professional, if you do it right. But it is extremely difficult and takes a lot of trial and error.
with a bit of trial and error you can make your YouTube account awesome and increase the chance that people subscribe to you or friend you if they see it :3
