So, I went on a downloading spree. 11 UTAUs from Nico, two from the UTAU Wiki. (Including Haruka Nana. I don't know why.)
I found an UTAU that was under a megabyte. I was like "Cool. I'll check this out."
So, I downloaded it to find that all of the samples were just random English words.
I was like "Not. Cool."
So, I deleted all of that and started on the OTO.
It's a big staticky mess, but I think it's really fun to try and make really... well... BAD banks sound decent.
After I deleted all of the files I couldn't use for Japanese, the bank was an astounding 248 Kilobytes. I think Anaka has SAMPLES bigger than that.
This is probably the smallest bank I've tried to use. The second smallest I've used is one called Kobano. Chii released him, and he has ALL of the samples needed for Japanese. He was just around 500 kb zipped, if I'm remembering correctly.
If this bank (Artemis Ookamine?) had all of the samples needed for Japanese, I think she would be slightly smaller than Kobano, though.
So, what's the smallest UTAU you guys have ever used?
(BTW- I'm setting samples that /could/ sound like the missing samples to act as the missing samples. Like, the S on So is clipped a bit, so it could kinda also sound like to and do, which are missing. Everything is so staticky and weird, I don't think anyone would even notice.)
