About half of Vocaloid song sales on iTMS is from outside Japan

This is the statics recently released by Crypton and the above figures represent the sales of the songs released from KarenT (Crypton's rabel) on iTunes Music Store.

It show that the sales outside Japan especially US has been rapidly growing and the US sales even temporarily surpassed Japan in January 2010.

This statistic doesn't show the actuall number of the sales and I guess it's pretty small compared to mainstream music. But it's still surprising to see that there is a market for vocaloid songs in the west too.　

Dammit Europe! Get in the game!

yeah, when I'll start selling on itunes, I'll bump up european sales to the top xD

Joking aside, I think it's pretty awesome to see that there's people who buy VOCALOID songs... Gives me a little hope for UTAU music, though I'm not expecting the sales to be nearly as big as these.

Cool. So Vocaloid got quite some support in the west, at the very least.

I did buy a few Vocaloid CDs on iTunes a while back (a minato album, a Dixie Flatline album, and a few other ones) to show some support. I know a CD with original Kasane Teto songs was recently published, and if I had access to it, I would buy it in a heartbeat! x3
