Weekly Western Vocaloid Ranking

I now added the "Weekly Western Vocaloid Ranking" to the Homepage.

as for now there aren't enough entered songs to start the first issue, but the platform is there.

Basically, producers can add their original songs on the WWVR page, then, when enough songs are entered we will calculate weekly, which songs are most popular in the Western Vocaloid world.

Rules:

- Original Songs
- Vocaloid software must be used
- songs must be uploaded to YouTube

the rating will commence by a formular similar to the NicoDouga WVR formular, which Utaenai kindly presented to us.

Is there a more efficient method that could be used instead of several producers needing to contact us individually? That seems like it'll take a while.

We, my friend, are pioneers.
There is no actual community of western vocaloid producers.
there is no promotion of any kind for western vocaloid producers on youtube.

there is no accurate database of western producers either.
At least I know of none.

do you see our problem?

Now I will try to find all producers I can get on youtube and inform them personally about the WWVR, to get them aboard.

After we realeased some issues and stirred up some public wake, I am sure we will get some influx on our original songs list.


It will work out.

But it will also take some time.

possibly months, but that is how long it is to build a BIG working community that is about a not so big branch of the music industry.

Ideally speaking, the best way is making an own video sharing site using something like clipbucket. I'm a totally noob at making websites and technical things though.

I would not take the videos from youtube, seeing how that again would draw attention away from the songs.

theoretically I could add a video bridge site to our homepage in which youtube content can be displayed as if our site was a video site itself. (more theoretically even our own videos could be loaded up, but we don't have that kind of traffic allowance)

however I think it is better to stay with youtube.

If they can be entered by other people, and as such can be entered en mass, then potentially a satisfactory amount of videos can be gathered for the chart quicker than if every producer had to contact us. Just pointing that out.

technically other people could enter other peoples songs through the comment function as well.
