But here goes: I Recently started writing a semi-emo/sort of symphonic Metal/almost country song, the idea I had for the back-up was something like the Evanescence song My Immortal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5anLPw0Efmo basically with guitar, Bass, a very sweet piano line and some sweet strings.

As A note, I am not a fan of distortion guitar, I would prefer as little distortion as possible for this song, thank you.

I don't have any preferred VOCALOIDs or UTAUs for it, I just thought it should be sung by a female. I sung the lyrics that I have so far (Which is just the Chorus.) http://www.mediafire.com/?mhrytt3mvn2
sorry for the bad audio quality.

I need background music mostly but basically all I have is the melody of the chorus, a slight idea for the verse melody and the Chorus lyrics. Please help me, thank you for reading.

    The Lyrics thus far:
There is nothing left for me
    In this world of circumstances
There is no one loving me
    No one giving second chances

I think I could do that.
Piano is my speciality and I prefer accoustic guitar over overdrive too.

I would recommend to make the melody in the refrain a bit more...
    what's the word.... dramatic? Catchy?

There is nothing wrong in particular, but for a refrain something like one high note on one silibal in each line really gives more of a feeling that something is happening.

And I think that applies to soft songs as well.

But I don't know how much you would interate me into working with the melody.
Personally I'd like it best to get a general Idea of what you want, which hopefully I have and then give you a BGM and you work your Melody around it.

Usually I make my bgm themes before the melody.

But in the end eitherway is fine, just tell me how you want to work this out.

    sy,

yep +1 for what kentai said already. Checked your chorus sample, to me it sounds more than the end of the 2nd verse and then the chorus come just after, but ya i dont know there is no real rules in music. For guitar riff i think it is better to have a true player doing it, i tried a lot of virtual ones and there is always something missing (exeption for electri6ity that keep amaze me but heh out of money lol )

And ya problem with the melody coming in mind 1st, it already restrict the chord we can play on, from what i hear roughtly, your melody seems to play on Major chord.

I am gonna give it a try tho, nothing come by itself without practicing Wink
And that the point of this board, finding peaple to work with and helping each others Wink

I know that the idea of writing a Lyrics before the music is odd and rarely done, Koda has said as much often. So when I get someone who's willing to do the music I would love for them to also make changes to the melody that make musical sense.

I do not know music, I do not pretend to know music. Any music that I produce is purely accidental and based on nothing but what my liver has to say about it.

My idea is for this song to not sound epic, I want it to be sweet and sad because the idea behind the song is that of a girl who is troubled by her parents' abuse and being hurt by anyone and everyone who claims to love her just to get in her pants.

    Came across that http://www.mediafire.com/?zdvdtwg2gze

Modified the melody a bit. I was also not sure of what rythme you want to achieve so it is more a suggestion of chord, better to have the others suggesting something so you can choose.

1st part is chord + melody
2nd part is chord a bit arranged + melody

Know i am not composing much atm since i am experementing with chord progression, audio mix down and mastering, just hoping it can give you some inspiration Wink
